ahoy!

avast ye mateys! arrrrgh... along with my fixation on wanting to be Queen Elizabeth I when i grow up, i harbor a secret fixation wanting to be a pirate. i think i have probably mentioned this before... but as i have only had 2 cups of coffee today i just don't remember.

(a little intermission here - i know i have not been posting as much recently - and i have missed it so. after dealing with some life stuff, i then had to deal with some business stuff and try and get the website up and working its best - please check it out - www.the-e-stylist.com and tell your friends - you know holiday season is coming -- gifts to find and parties to dress for!!)

back to pirate visions... so - i am beyond obsessed with Captain Jack Sparrow. and the movies just rocked my world thank you very much. so, as is my habit, i began to mentally morph into character. pirate-y necklace of a sword and heart from Me&Ro? check. skull ring from Me&Ro? check. boots, harder to nail down... nothing was perfect... i mean who WOULDN'T want Vivienne Westwood pirate boots? but it is easier to locate and return to God the Holy Grail than to find those boots. and i have things to do damn it. BUT WAIT!!!!! what is this????? the most perfect pirate boot EVER?!??!? i think so. Fiorentini and Baker don't seem to be able to do much wrong in the way of the boot...

if this color doesn't shiver yer timbers, there are a number of other GORGE colors to choose from - really amazing greys and the ever perfect black. leather, suede, whatever floats your pirate ship. and the leathers are beat up to look as if Jack Sparrow himself wore them. sigh. don't you just love it when a fashion character all comes together?

line up yer chakras

well well well... this one managed to nearly slip right under my super heightened shopdar. (shopping radar, obvi)... luckily i cranked it up a notch and caught this.

we love jewelry. yes. we love Me&Ro. yes. we love deals. yes. do some math, combine those three and bazinga! one of the designers from Me&Ro teamed up with HSN, (seems to be rather trendy these days, the whole shopping network thing...) and did a line called Robin by Me&Ro. the pieces are directly related to their main line, just using cz's rather than "real" stones, and alloys rather than 10K and sterling. all in all - they are all a bit adorable!

i'm diggin on this big ring - and a bracelet, and some earrings, and a necklace.... oh for the love of buddha i really kind of dig it all...

today's morning obsession

coffee, check emails, twitter, google reader (my lovely bf instructed me in the ways...it's like my own personally designed morning paper. love it) and then cruise the interwebs a little... partially based on what emails i have...

one such (i enjoy saying that because of Henry VIII and his bizarre mental crazed design of None-such palace) pardon me - one such email was from me&ro -- seems they have expanded their line and added some new pieces... so i cruised over to see - and kind of can't stop loving these little earrings. i'm pretty sure it came from when i was little - in England, i was always very into the teeny flowers. my aunt still puts them in my room when i go there to visit. teeny flowers and teeny birds. they make me happy on the inside. and we know that jewelry does that to a girl too. so it's kind of one of those sitchos where there's just nothing bad about it...

oh temptation how you tempt me!

on this sunny friday... two things come to my mind, aside from the fact that i'm glad it's the weekend.

one - i LOVE love love this skully bracelet. i love leather jewelry, i love little beads, i love little skullys like the me&ro ring that i have. this is all things wrapped (literally) into one. sigh.

and two - how did i never think the shop Planet Blue would have a website? i've never been to the shop out in Malibu - but all the time i'm hearing that it's "so me" - all kind of luxe hippie yum yum gorgeousness. and i honestly don't know why it did not occur to me until now that i could shop there on the interwebs until the next time i'm in LA when i WILL go to the shop.

that's about all there is to say about that!

stack attack - starring the neck

i am a stacker. i am not sure where it comes from, perhaps from my weird emotional attachment to pretty things, breeding a desire to pile them all upon myself until i collapse in a heap of beauty... dunno. i stack my rings, my bracelets and my necklaces. because i love them.

today i'm feelin' neck-y, so we will go there. this is my latest pile of passion. (it will vary depending on mood, and the mood can last for varying amounts of time. there may well be future neck-y stack posts)
it stars Me&Ro, Tiffany, and a sweet little flower from Fragments. this is just my own personal neck - i strongly urge ye gals to stack away out there with what lovely things you have in your own jewelry box. it's fun and pretty and an easy way to make a plain outfit look dressed up boho style. (a running theme in my life)

i was wearing three of these little lovelies when i purchased the fourth, and the woman at Tiffany said "i love the texture you're creating with them". i'm not entirely sure what she meant with the texture, but hey, a compliment is a compliment so i said thank you and check please.

the teeny flower pendant is from Fragments. i'm not sure of the designer (sorry designer - i love your flower!! it was just a long time ago!!) but it's a lovely store to wander around with loads of beautiful sparkly things to make a girl feel giddy... and pretty.

the two bezel set stone necklaces are Tiffany... from the "diamonds by the yard" collection. they have just added sterling silver to the mix - which makes it far easier on the old wallet! online they only show diamonds, but in the store they also sell the collection with aquamarines, which takes down the price even further - and it's really pretty. good + good = "super fantastic"

the longest necklace is from Me&Ro. i am OBSESSED with their jewelry. i have a couple of pieces, (can't go too nuts with collecting, as i'm not raking in a ton of money at the mo, and it's a bit pricey...but god is it gorgeous and worth it.) including a ring giftie from the bf. and i plan on adding bits and bobs as i can afford. it is beautiful, bohemian-tastic, and i love it. in the show Weeds, Mary Louise Parker's character Nancy Botwin wears PILES of this stuff, and it always makes my eyes go wide and my heart pulse with envy. in case you didn't get the point, i like the stuff.

phew. that was a bit long. sorry my dears. the point of the matter is - PILE IT ON. collect things that you love, and don't be afraid to wear them together. mix and match, have fun and look beautiful doing it!
