the big finale
the ever hip Kate Moss and the ever fab TopShop have been teamed up for 14 collections... some of them super fantastic some of them not so much - but always fun. this next one - to hit stores November 2, will be the last. seems like it was an amicable break up - it was just taking more time than she really wanted to devote to it - and she is still scoring major modeling contracts - so it's not like gf needs a day job. i'm DEF diggin' the poncho and cape (in fact i loving lust for the paisley cape, i cannot lie) -- and the dresses are a bit of fun too... so get it while you can dolls, Mz Moss has left the TopShop building...

dear winter,
i am no longer afraid of you and your bastard cold. with a coat as cute as this, (or the cropped darker version) from Topshop i will fend off your winds with no regard. i shall layer on cashmere scarf, gloves and hat, and laugh in the face of your nastiness! sincerely, the-e-stylist

a wee stroll on the high street
i have been nostalgic lately for England. i haven't been in a while - and i miss it. because of the creature i am - i of course gravitate to the shops when i'm there... i have fantasies in my head of the shopping route i would take if i were in London for 24 hours. (in the fantasy i'm not even sure WHY i'm there for 24 hours, but i seem to always give myself that "emergency shopping timeframe" EST) for the record, it involves Harrods, Harvey Nichols, Liberty and Topshop (at Oxford Circus, natch). it is completely and utterly do-able in 24 hours. i have worked it out time and again in my brain.anyhoo - enough of my mental wanderings!! i always dig the Topshop -- obsessively so. and when they do a designer collab - even more fun! there are a few coming this spring... and i'm a bit loving this denim skirt from Jonathan Saunders.... the collection is quite small, but priced well, starting around $35. the skirt is amazing - very Saunders architectural - the architecture of a woman. loves it. and i am kind of groovin on the dress as well. (the bustier - not so much. i'm imagining a young vixen writhing around in a Poison video... you're welcome Brett Michaels)
the collection hits the shops in late January. the 20th to be precise. and i too shall hit the shops in late January.

high street heaven
indeed, it's that time of year... the decorations are popping up in shops, the giftie catalogs are being sent in droves, and Kate Moss Christmas collection is in at Topshop. the lingerie is a bit adorable, and there are a couple of dresses and tops that make you go hmmm... cruise it - see what you're feeling.girl rocks the daylights out of the clothing in the photos too - and her hair is hot 60's bed head fab. regardless of what i may buy (ummm... perhaps this lovely blouse?) i fully plan on sportin the hair...
i'm a sucker for the high/low. i'm picturing this top, my Alexander Wang black skinny pants, and this that or the other out of the shoe collection... top it off with a great bag and a pile of bracelets, and BAZINGA we are off to the races.

coffee + topshop = perfect afternoon

being inside Topshop makes me feel happy because it makes me feel like i'm in England. old habits die hard, i reckon. being in Topshop with Melody -- extra happy. we were both a bit overwhelmed today by the masses of people plus the abundance of sequin-y items. some sort of bizarre mathematical vortex. thank god we had caffeinated first. despite the daze, we did manage a good happy cruise of all 3 floors. aside from the sequinery, there were some ubiquitous perfect Topshop items. not surprisingly, 2 of the favorite categories cruised - leather jackets and shoes. i am very much hoping that this particular jacket shall soon be owned by Mel. it is SO soft that it is almost absurd. neither one of us could stop touching it. ok, mostly me. but she really loved it so i hope she gets it, having exercised great restraint today. shoes-a-palooza aside, i also gravitated toward nearly all of the Kate Moss items - including this top... and a few others... and a leather dress... luckily for my wallet and bank account, i too exercised restraint. but let there be no doubt... i'll be going again soon. you know, for England.

dreamy dreamy DREAMY

i'm almost at a loss for words with how much i adore this new collection for Topshop by Christopher Kane. it almost hurts. what actually does hurt is waiting for it. i think i've gone mad for grommets. i'm particularly enamored of this grey skirt. but honestly all of this stuff is just beyond. i LOVE love LOVE it. i know - cap city. but it just feels warrented in this case... lord knows this stuff is going to be gone in about 3.4 seconds - so have a look now and make your decisions, then fire up your engines babies... hey look at that, i found words! quel surprise.

london towne
there is something about London girls' style... before the world was all contained inside computers it was more drastic a difference, but even now, they are just a little bit ahead of the curve. they are edgy and cool. they have the LA messy gorgeous casual mixed in with the NY slick - shaken, not stirred, into the perfect style cocktail. the quintessential example of this is the one and only Kate Moss. the woman just has it NAILED. there have been other "style icons" that the mags try and put upon us - but this girl just has it down. so it seems only logical that after a matter of time, she would design. she did a collection for Topshop (ah Topshop - i have waxed on i know, but i could again easily. just saying the word transports me in my mind to Oxford tube station - and the first glimpse of Topshop just across the street...) last year - and there were some very cute pieces - but nothing that rocked my world to the point where i felt the need to spend... this season's collection however, i feel it will most likely loosen my purse strings. the collection comes out soon - and lord knows it will go FAST. like hotcakes, as they say. hot fashion cakes. there are some "preview" pics online at the website, and i'm loving them a bit...in particular this little number, and the floaty butterfly piece... Kate, once again, you have done it right.
